webMVT Beta Version 2

Legacy MVT (circa 1977) running in a browser or with a Pi Zero

Directions to start using Raspberry Pi Zero version:

1. Unzip downloaded file

2. This is a pre-built uSD to be used with a Raspberry PI Zero

3. User is “Pi”, password is “ipl150”

4. Can be assessed via ‘ssh’ as “raspiMVT.local” (Mac & Linux)

5. WiFi is not configured but can be with raspi-config

So what exactly is this?

1. This is an integration of Arch Linux (or Raspberry Pi Linux), Hercules, Copy.sh and Kenvin Leonard’s asp.zip MVT
distribution so as to function in browsers and on Raspberry Pi small hardware.

2. It has been heavily tested under Chrome. Some testing has been done with MS Edge.

3. It has also been heavily tested with Raspberry Pi Zero and Raspberry Pi 4 hardware.

4. Performance range using Hercules MIPS values:

· Rasp Pi 4 20-30 MIPS

· Zero W 1.3-2 MIPS

· Copy.sh (I7) .10-.20, .35-.38 MIPS
(this done using Chrome)

· WSL (I7) 150+ MIPS

5. Especially the webMVT version can be viewed as a “video game” for mainframers, young and old!
